A Foodie’s Guide To A Night of Online Slots

There’s nothing better than spending an evening with some good food and your favorite online slot machines; but what are the best snacks? Sure – you could go for a takeaway and munch on that as the night goes on, but if you really want to boss your game night, then here’s some of our favorite foods to have while we play. Plus, if you’re a newbie in the gambling scene, you can research all the strategies you fancy. No matter the amount of tips for online slots you read, if you’re not fueling your body and mind while playing – you’ll make mistakes. So, here’s our list of our favorite gaming snacks.

Chips and Dip

It’s a classic for a reason. It’s simple, convenient, and there’s something for everyone. It gives players a low cost, low commitment option to graze on in between turns. Chips and dip are also incredibly versatile and can accommodate vegans, the gluten free, or just plain picky eaters. Some great options include corn chips and salsa and/or guacamole, kettle cooked chips with tzatziki or hummus, or the classic: rippled chips and French onion dip. For a healthier option, you can also add some raw vegetables in with your chips like carrots and cucumber, but they probably won’t be eaten as fast.

Sushi

This is a very love it or hate it opinion, but we love a bit of sushi here! Different types of sushi cause different levels of mess, but we find some bite sized maki are wonderfully self-contained thanks to the outer seaweed layer that keeps it all together. If you’re not skilled at chopsticks, using a fork or even your fingers can stop the California rolls from falling apart. You can dip these wonderful bites in soy sauce, spicy mayonnaise or even wasabi if you love that extra kick of heat! What’s more, if you want to take regular breaks between slot games then you can even try making your own. Whether you’re a fan of fish or prefer a filling of chicken or veggies, this snack is perfect for a slot session.

Fruit

We think fruit as a snack is often overlooked. It’s such a shame that a naturally sweet option is thrown to the side in exchange for something in a plastic wrapper, but that doesn’t have to be you. Finger food fruits, like grapes, apple slices, strawberries and blackberries are refreshing, light and can be munched in one bite. Be careful of staining the berries, but it’s easy to wash it away if a little accident does happen. If you’re a fan of apple slices but want an extra bit of flavor, try different dips like peanut butter, Nutella, and honey.

Grilled Cheese

A fan favorite across the board – who doesn’t love a grilled cheese?! Okay, maybe the lactose intolerant and the vegans are a little put off, but they can even use lactose free or vegan cheese. If you’re worried it’ll be too greasy, you can cut it up into bite sized pieces and have little squares of cheesy goodness. You can also make more adventurous combinations, such as cheese and jalapeno or brie, bacon, and cranberry sauce, or you can stick to the American classic of cheddar on white bread. There’s really something for everyone.

Candy

While many of the snack ideas above cause the worry of greasy fingers, candy creates an objectively worse possibility: sticky fingers! To play it safe, avoid candies that will melt in your hand or are covered in sugar. Some good options include M&M’s (melts in your mouth, not in your hand™), Swedish Berries (delicious and vegan-friendly), and Starbursts (their individual wrappers add an extra layer of game-protecting goodness).

Cookies

A truly wonderful thing about cookies is that they’re a one-hand snack. No matter if you’re playing slots on your PC or on your phone, you can keep spinning and munching at the same time. No hassle. No fuss. Good food. Another reason why cookies are an excellent snack is because there are so many flavors and types from choc chip, oatmeal raisin and good old shortbreads. If you’re a fan of the soft-baked cookies, they’re usually crumb free so you can keep your workplace clean too, what a win!

Rocky Road

Oh, we do love rocky roads! The magnificent combination of sweet and salty – thanks to the mix of nuts, cookie, marshmallow, and chocolate – dances on your tongue and hits all sorts of cravings. Plus, if you’re planning on playing for a long time, then the sugar and nuts give you a quick, long lasting energy boost to help you focus no matter what the slots throw at you. If you’re making rocky road yourself, you can choose how big the slices are, so they can be small enough to pop in your mouth without taking your eyes off the game, and naturally it’s finger food, so no washing up of any utensils!
