Getting to the 4000 Islands

Traveling from Cambodia
Those coming from Kratie, Stung Treng, or Banlung in Cambodia can take a minivan to the 4,000 islands, then take a boat to Don Det or Don Khong. If you can only get a ride to Ban Nakasang Village, you can still take the ferry to Si Phan Don, but doing so will cost you more money and take more time out of your day.
In the morning, several buses leave Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for the border town of Don Det, where passengers will spend the next seven hours waiting to cross into Si Phan Don. Passengers can stay on the bus and relax while an immigration officer processes their paperwork at the Laotian border.
